PSA: if you want to age well:

  • wear sunscreen

  • eat fruits and veg, avoid sugar as much as you can

  • do some form of cardio(walking is perfectly fine, you just want to get your heart going)

  • Do some form of resistance training.(calisthenics, lift a litre bottle)

  • Sleep around 7 to 8 hrs

You'll not only be the hottest 60 or 70 year old, you're quality of life won't degrade much.

My mental health is too poor to be able to do any of those.

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 40 points 6 days ago (10 children)

Just gotta start. Its hard I know but once you go, its easier.

Walking really helps my mental health. To be fair I live near the beach so it very relaxing.

[–] stevles@aussie.zone 6 points 6 days ago

I've had major depressive for most of my adult life. No rhyme or reason for it, just shit brain chemistry. Finding the right medication and walking or cycling really helps.

For me, Desvenlafaxine was the right meds for me, your mileage will almost certainly vary though.

My half-baked theory is that many right-wingers don't have any sense of aesthetics at all. Instead, they perceive signifiers. Which is why so many of them like ugly tacky garbage, as long as it looks shiny and new and expensive.

Plastic surgery can be a signifier -- if it's obvious plastic surgery. That's where "Mar-a-Lago Face" comes from.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 6 days ago

Would explain why right wing art is always garbage, and they can't make music for shit

what a beauty!

[–] joelfromaus@aussie.zone 39 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I thought this was 4 different people. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with the ones on the left!! Holy shit, that’s horrible.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Seriously, I thought they were all different. That's just some depressing mental illness... Why destroy such beautiful faces like that... They were already really attractive now they're... Not.

[–] Protoknuckles@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago

It's a social status thing. They have the money and influence to look like ghouls on purpose.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Wait they’re the same person???? Yikes!

I don't get this obsession with having no facial lines on your face.

Dimples used to be seen as cute.

I've had lines on my forehead since I was a kid and it helps people read my expression. It's not a flaw.

Now it's fill and paralyze the face .

How is this so popular?

[–] glitzer_gadze@feddit.org 13 points 6 days ago (2 children)

To be fair, that happens for both sides.

Embrace equality, hate everyone equally!!!

That's Billy the puppet, not Jigsaw.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 6 days ago

the others are the patients, not the surgeons (who made them look this way)

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (3 children)

The Laura Loomer one especially frustrates me. She was infinitely more attractive before she had all that work done :/

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It could just be that I can't separate her from the ugliness of her personality but, personally, I think she was ugly before and after.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

Yeah it's probably that, because she was stunning.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 6 points 5 days ago

Nothing special either way about her appearance before, but Megan Fox was legitimately one of the most beautiful women alive. Though I don't think she did it for Trump's approval at least (she started pretty early with the first boob job), I suspect it was her own insecurity and I'm not going to be judgemental of that, we've all got our issues.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (2 children)

"Frustrates" is a curious word choice...

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

For a male example that "Clavicular" guy was very attractive before his surgeries too. I think there's something beautiful in people accepting and loving who they are already so all this elective surgery stuff gives me the ick.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yes, because it means she couldn't see how beautiful she already was and that's frustrating to me when I think about it.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 days ago

it's often the social bubble they live/work in that peer pressures them into this.

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

A surgeon? Or a severe bee allergy?

I still fully believe someone did this all as a joke, people fell for it and plastic surgeons or just laughing their asses off all the way to the bank

[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I don't think that's really fair to megan fox if I'm honest.

I mean there's a conversation to be had about what she looked like in her early 20s and how much better she would have looked if she had have aged gracefully since then, but I think it would be tough to find a photo of her looking like this.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You've also probably never seen a photo of Megan Fox from when she was young that wasn't heavily edited to make her as attractive as possible.

Why does Megan Fox look like Jim Carey

[–] norealme@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

It's always really scary.

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 6 points 6 days ago

No way #3 turned into #4 I cannot believe it.
