Idk why you put a sarcasm tag on it.

Oh, what an excellent choice! Time for many beloved Paramount and WB franchises to wither and die off, and a culture of harassment to foment at the new combined company.

Falling upwards

Doesn't he have enough fucking money?

[–] DdCno1@beehaw.org 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's about power, not money.

He's 64 years old and should be enjoying a very comfortable retirement.

It's a fucking mental illness is what it is.

[–] DebatableRaccoon@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

You're right, it'd be extremely comfortable if he were to lie still.

Kotick is an asshole so he should fit right in.

At a point in time when so many are tired of big mergers like these, when big merges like these have led to completely shit results even from the investor-beloved muh metrics, these people not only proceed with the big merger, but hire a man you probably just don't want from the metrics perspective alone. They surely don't care about the ethics and morality, but isn't a person like Kotick that's so bad for PR is bad for the public image (although already a poor one), leading to less money, so the line doesn't up and that's bad?

Not in the current climate I guess.

This is such a weird merger getting weirder still.

Kotick, like many other CEOs, simply became too "big" to fail. I absolutely abhor that some people can become like this. They ruin everything their name touches and yet... they keep getting hired for big money.

in a fair world people like Kotick would be relegated to flipping burgers and mopping floors, because those are hard to screw up.

Geez, they're really going all out on getting people to hate them, huh?

I'm surprised his promotion took this long. CEOs who are willing to threaten to have their employees killed usually fail upward a little faster.

Well, on the bright side, his face remains extremely punchable.

I think we should all be allowed to test this theory. At least once. Science is based on lots of data points, after all.

He's the asshole who killed HOTS, thank god the new woman brought it back. Just kidding, God isn't real.
