The first pair I ever ordered were delivered to the wrong address and never arrived; as a result I'm incapable of coding and doomed to bad linux choices.

i am a linux user and i got my first pair when i was just barely questioning my gender

like maybe 2 weeks into thinking anything of the sort where i kinda assumed i was either a femboy or just cis but fem then i "tried" she/her pronouns online and have never gone back.

been on hrt for a year now and i am no longer depressed and feel much happier about myself.

anyways sorry it went on so long but i guess i started wearing them 2.5/3 years ago although i still cant program for shit

I mean, if we're going down that route - anyone with an Android phone. Chromebooks. Windows users with WSL. Arguably iOS/Mac users too to be honest.

And....Most smart TVs run on Linux. Lots of DVD players.. cameras.. doorbells.. other embedded devices.. and routers.. Mars drones.. probably some peoples' fridges. I mean heck basically anything with a vaguely complex chip could be running Linux.

..Maybe we should just nationalise programmers socks and give them to everyone.

👷‍♀️ "Look, i don't get paid to understand why the regulation says we need to wear these socks. I get paid to make sure you're all following the regulations. hst-gun now put on the fucking socks"

Programmer socks? Well I've got thermal underwear here on Windows, which I guess isn't as cool.

Now Corn Pop was a bad dude. This is because she was actually a girl all along and it took a pair of socks to get the ball rolling.

I'm not a programmer but I've got a few pairs of patterned net tights if that counts ˶ᵔ⩊ᵔ˶

I started wearing programmer socks while I was still in denial. It became my thing and everyone started giving me programmer socks. I was the “guy” who wore leggings and programmer socks. Now that I actually have a sense of fashion for myself I have no use for all my giant ass socks. I mostly wear black at this point. But I don’t want to throw them out either. Also several people bought me men’s crew socks and could not have misunderstood the assignment more.

I'm sorry.

[–] Aradino@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

it's too hot for that we need something more breathable

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Its getting cold here. So some kneesocks might be just right for me.

Nah, I don't wear programmer socks. Then again, I also don't program as much as I used to. I definitely thought they were cute, but partially because of transphobic family and partly because I feel like they'd be too hot, I just never got into them.

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't.
