Some of them I can’t find, like the original teaser poster for Pirates of the Caribbean where a skeleton is helming a ship through a storm.

Maybe not favorite, but it's up there. Best thing about the movie and really tells you all you need to know.
This single poster arguably has more depth than the entire prequel trilogy. I remember being absolutely stoked when I saw this poster.
Totally for the fans. We knew what was coming already, it didn't have to say anything. As much as I love the original poster for the first film (had it on my wall forever) this one is the best for Star Wars, even if you didn't like the prequels. It's perfection.

Me and my buddy were sitting on the couch smoking bowls watching news coverage about all the crowds at the theaters. We were a couple of blocks away from one so we decided to drive by and see how crazy it was in-person. Once at the theater, there was plenty of parking and no lines. We went to the box office expecting there were no lines because everything was sold out but we were able to buy two tickets to the next showing around 9p. We had enough time to go back and smoke more bowls and when we got back to the theater, we had plenty of choices for seats. I remember how much I hated the acting performance out of young Anakin and Natalie Portman, and whatever it was that Jar Jar was supposed to be. When The Force was explained as a blood disease I questioned why I ever liked Star Wars at all. I enjoyed Episode III when the jedi kids were slaughtered, The Force Awakens, and the last bit of Rogue One, but haven't kept up with any of the side stories or origin stories. The first time I questioned my fandom was when I went to the theaters for the specialized editions. When I saw the CGI I thought if this is what his vision was supposed to be maybe I don't like his vision.

This one because it was an accident; somehow a black piece of paper got 'accepted' as the artwork instead of the actual artwork and everybody else just kinda rolled with it without asking questions.
Had to look this one up. According to Cameron:
"And I said, ‘Honestly, if I had a choice between that piece of shit and just an all-black frame, I’d go with the all black frame.’ And apparently what happened was I walked out of the office and he called somebody up and said ‘He wants it all black!’ He wasn’t hearing what I was saying. So if you ever wondered why there was literally nothing on the one sheet for Aliens, that’s why.”

As a kid, when we went to the video rental store I would look at the horror movie covers. They were the coolest!
The two that most stick into my memory are Dead Alive and American Gothic.

There are cleaned up versions of this poster online, but that perfection of the image omits the essential aesthetic of seeing it on a beat up VHS tape box in the 99-cent horror section of the video rental store.
Yes! The frayed corners indicated multiple rentals, which MAY indicate quality.
Another favorite of mine is the House cover.

Oh hell yeah. Scanners and The Stuff have some awesome covers. As a kid, I thought these movies would be scary as hell, and when I was old enough to finally watch them, I was shocked at how ridiculous and funny they actually are. The smell of theatre popcorn always brings me right back to those moments of fear and wonder looking up at these posters in the cinema lobby.
I have a forever memory of seeing the poster for Jason Goes to Hell hanging up in the theater. I thought the movie must be epic because the poster was so cool.
