El Nino is a bit of a gimme, considering that it has long been known to be a repeating cycle.
It's more the amount of media coverage that made it noteworthy.
Its not only being covered to distract from the trumpstein pedo-files, this is a Super El Niño which is going to have significant impacts on the world.
Start stocking up on nonperishables like coffee and rice. Shit's gonna get wild
Winamp? The heck did I miss?
It's coming back as a streaming subscription service. Doomed to fail once the nostalgia wears off. It's like Napster all over again.

It makes me very happy that Dick Miller got to be in DS9.
He was a great bit player. Loved him in both Gremlins films. Then, once I discovered MST3K, in The Undead.

It's not exactly the same, but not terrible. Might take a little tweaking of UI settings.
What's funny is that Zune's media player was actually pretty solid. Had the last model before they gave up. Used it for a while in the waning days of Winamp.
Not too late to start owning your music again! My pick for a modern player is Snowsky Echo Mini.
Saw a review for that recently. Definitely looks great.
It has some minor irritations, but, overall, it feels like its been dogfooded.
I tried one of the cheapie $20-$30 ones from Amazon and it was clear they just threw the software together.
If UI is your thing, there's an opensource jukebox with an apparently impeccable UI, but you have to get a compatible player and that means buying used because by the time they make firmware for a player, its no longer in production. It also doesn't support Bluetooth, which I thought I absolutely needed when I was getting started, but now I've got more wires in my life.
I never had a Zune, which is a bummer. I had a Creative Zen player, which was decent, but not a Zune
I still have my 2 Zunes. They don’t work and one day I might be brave enough to try replacing the battery. Until then, they sit on my shelf and mock me.
Can also recommend a self-hosted navidrome and Feishin as a player
You could also just use an older version of Winamp. Audacious is a better choice though. I use Strawberry myself.
I will give you winamp 5 and the crack
As stupid as it is, at least this attempt at reviving Winamp doesn't seem to have any rhetoric about how it's going to be "built for the glorius inevitable agentic AI future revolution from the ground up" and talk about how "curating music has never been easier" because their "most advanced music AI in human history" takes away the need to have any personality, taste, or ears of your own.
They are obviously perfectly aware of both El Niño and Winamp, because both were on the news just before they were thrown out of their time.
