AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

“You don’t really read it, and now it has to be reviewed by your colleagues, and they are like, ‘this doesn’t look right,'” he complained. “You’re just letting AI do the work for you.”

You literally asked for this

The ego centric narcissist cannot fathom having a personal flaw.

We really need to recognize such people as actually magnitudes morendangerous to society than a dinky little deranged serial killer.

I want shopify to fail so badly. This piece of shit is a filthy American boot licker and wants to change Canadas voting policy to allow the rich to have more votes.

I wish incurable dick cancer on him.

[–] eatCasserole@lemmy.world 40 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Allow the rich to have more votes?? Wow.

Aggressive incurable dick cancer.

[–] Delilah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago

Aggressively painfull untreatable dick cancer.

[–] BooBees@fedinsfw.app 4 points 2 weeks ago

The rich having more votes is just undoing civil rights, just a return to the system before those movements

[–] Tenthrow@lemmy.world 34 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What's ironic, is the rich already have more votes. They buy them from morons.

[–] Goodeye8@piefed.social 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Seems like a very inefficient way of doing things, better buy the elected official.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

danielle is looking for more cash.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

Lutke is German. Be interesting to see what his grandparents were up to in the 1930s.

[–] Not_mikey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 127 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The actual interview is him talking about how AI is revolutionizing the company, including a slack chat bot that he says is generating 50% of there PRs, and he's very excited to see where it goes.

He mentions one issue they have had with it and the article takes that and extrapolates that he thinks there whole AI push was a mistake, he doesn't

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 38 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

This is very important context to have, thank you.

[–] GloomyDorje@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, i looked up before i saw your comment and came to the same conclusion. It discredits Futurism quite a bit in my eyes.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Futurism is always a bit click baity. Sometimes they get good stuff but they definitely go a bit far.

[–] GloomyDorje@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

True, but these is a difference between a click baity title and ripping a quote out of context and pretending somebody holds the opposite possition as they have in reality.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 43 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Seems like the sort of misguided decisionmaking that should lead to termination from leadership positions.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 32 points 2 weeks ago

This is inevitably what happens when you create a "leadership" class that doesn't do actual work and has no idea how the actual work is done.

Also the billionaire CEO of shopify champions the movement of stripping voting rights from most people and giving the ultra-wealthy extra votes.

So every time you use shopify, know what your money is getting used for.

[–] LostWanderer@fedia.io 28 points 2 weeks ago

ROFL Yas, you get what you deserve! Seems like malicious compliance at work.

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 24 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Slop grenades! It’s the digital equivalent of throwing jars of piss at each other!

[–] Binturong@lemmy.ca 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh this fucking idiot. Every time I see a CEO open their mouth it ends up being stunningly informative regarding the connections we presume between intelligence, merit and wealth. Take is hoarded money away, reinvest it in education and health care systems, and make him work like the rest of the wagies for a while instead of wasting all that time speculating which yacht to buy next. It'll humanize him.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Destroy the system that encourages people like this to exist.

CEO baffled to learn that his employees do the things he pays them to do, in the manner in which he tells them to do them...

... and that extremely overgrown autocomplete algorithim != human cognition+action.

Addendum: Didn't realize BatBoy from the Weekly World News had become a tech bro CEO... why the fuck not, at this point?

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 12 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

How very convenient that everyone else has to pay the price for your stupid decision, you dumb shit

Estimates found workers already waste 3.4 hours a month cleaning up the AI schlock, amounting to a monthly loss of $8.1 million for a workplace with 10,000 employees.

Yes. AI harms productivity.

[–] TheColonel@reddthat.com 10 points 2 weeks ago

Tech asbestos

[–] lichtmetzger@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 weeks ago

Pivot to AI made a video about this, he's actually not horrified at all, this guy is still very much pro AI.

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 3 points 2 weeks ago

Somebody toss this guy a sock and set him free.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

By gods! Who could've thought leopards would eat this poor man's face!?

[–] bold_atlas@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Cool story Toby. Now cease breathing you Nosfuratu looking shit head.

[–] mrsilkworm@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago
[–] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

😂😆😝🤣 surprising only the hysterical CEO's of the world. Too bad he'll fail upwards, but at least we get to laugh a bit.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 2 points 2 weeks ago

THIS type of Decision making DESERVES at least 5 EXTRA Votes in the Upcoming Elections!

[–] Furbag@pawb.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

I thought elves were supposed to be wise? Is he just a pointy-eared phony?

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Haha, at revolut they just expect Claude to drop the database. They were told to minimize manual typing and therefore Claude has all the credentials to do nasty things

[–] kingkong@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

if this is the case that ai takes over time to cancel all the elites. remember universe 25 ratopia died because of elites gate keeping.

in this way we are going through ratopia and we need to remove the elites controlling the world to have a future. or at least heavily tax their wealth not their income remove income tax and tax wealth not income.. if you dont want wealth because its hard to collect the easiest collection is land value tax georgism.

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world -5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Puff piece, could have been written by AI.

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 9 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Hey! Be glad that some idiot is still employed to write stupid articles like this. Would you really rather have this generated by some stupid AI?

This reflects a person who is still earning a wage. I’ll take that over any AI bullshit.

I don’t care how fucking bad it is

A real human being with a job… That’s what matters now

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I was making jokes related to the article while at the same time deriding the lack of content.

I do apologize for the lack of clarity, here are some suggestions for better prompts in the future...

[–] eurodyne@piefed.world 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I was making jokes

Look, I appreciate that… But we live in a fucked up world today. And it’s gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

And if any of us are gonna get to the other side of it while continuing to be sane… we’re gonna need people like you to help us remember how to smile.
