the-doohickey

The intended target was Louis Phillipe of France. It fired once. Out of 25 barrels four misfired, four barrels exploded, and the would be assassin forgot to load one, and it still fired enough projectiles to kill 18 people, wound 18 people, wound 4 people more so badly they lost limbs, and also hurt the assailant himself from the exploding barrels. The king got a light scratch.

The builder of this infernal machine, Giuseppe Marco Fieschi, was given an honorary funeral service by the Reactive Scientific Research Institute, the developers of the Katyusha rocket system, a century after his death.

casually ~~wheeling~~ pushing that thing into the king's speech. no one asks what's going on or stops me. casually loading every barrel in that thing with some shit i found laying around. no one wonders why. lighting the trail of charcoal and gunpowder going to each individual barrel. no one says anything.

edit: nvm he just fired it from his house lol

a bit too complicated to be a doohickey its really more of a contraption

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 5 points 2 hours ago

No it 's a couple of tubes with gunpowder wadding and metal shit in it. It's very uncomplicated. The fact that it exploded four times being used once does heavily point towards contraption though.

Had he constructed it so that the gunfire diverged and crossed as opposed to the parallel and converging implementation, the attack might have killed up to 200 additional people and "literally torn the King and his staff to pieces".

I can tell you why one of them probably misfired, you got a bent barrel right there in the middle.
