Where's the city in "Lego City"? (lemmy.ml)

I'm very surprised checking the "Lego City" theme and seeing that there's police station, fire station, airport, trains, buses, boats, other stuff... but no inhabitants!

This is not as I remember from years ago. Then there were also houses (this and this for instance), the postman...

What happened? Colour me nostalgic, but looking at older sets I find them more beautiful than many I see today.

Think of all that hostile architecture and the flatshares/bedshares.
Oh! Also, I can't recall to have ever seen a library made out of lego.
