Yeah, I think it's possible (and sometimes valuable) to have both disdain for someone's actions and decisions and compassion for things they didn't and couldn't decide. I hope he is removed from all positions of influence, but I wouldn't wish dementia on him any more than I would on anyone else.
I get it had the same thing happen to my granma it was awful to watch and something I'd normally not wish on anyone. However, I can only hope Mitch suffers the same fate and survives a decade as a husk. Its the karma he deserves.

I used to work in a hospice with stroke patients, I have seen that face a hundred thousand times on a hundred diffrent patients.
I know we should be sad to see his down fall from the "upstanding" individual he was by protecting the US form mandatory Paid Sick Leave, stealing a SCOTUS seat claiming 600+ days was too soon to get Neil Gorsuch, fighting against "greedy" 9/11 survivors, opposing civil rights, and filling a SCOTUS seat after an election had occurred with a Biden win.
