Reminded me of this Tame Impala album cover;

Reminded me of the sand chamber in the Stalker film:

Do structures get preserved well when covered with sand? Some pyramids and sphinxes were preserved wonderfully, but those were massive stones. I'd assume structures like this wouldn't break down completely right?

There's probably entire ancient villages buried in a millennium of sand.

I'd say it's more the dryness than the sand.

Pompeii got preserved due to ash, so probably. Unless by the time it's completely covered the sand grinded the outer shell

Is that where Tame Impala got that album cover from

That was my first thought as well, turns out it is!

This is oddly beautiful and/or my brain is broken from too many open world games.

The rent on that place is pretty low but the cleaning fee is outrageous.

Thanks. I’ve been wondering where these were since I watched this scene from Samsara in 2011.
