Something i just remembered from my Latin classes in school: a large amount of women's names in ancient rome were ailments and negatively viewed attributes transformed into a Name; that's why Lena is "lazy". Another one is "Claudia" which means "The one walking with a limp". So i would advise you to ignore these things - noone has thought about them outside of latin freaks for the last centuries.
Why did the Romans name their children after the sick?
why do you care?
There are a lot of people named Fanny around the world and it means butt in the south of the US and pussy in the UK. Own it.
Lena sounds fine to me
It's also a real name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lena_Raine

Yeah it's not uncommon in English but I'm not from the anglosphere
Isnt that a form of Greek name Helena?
Loads of swedish girls are named Lena, so go for it!

The only export from Slovenia that the average person can name is an infamous prostitute.

Pippa is slang for 'to fuck' in Swedish and 'masturbate' in Italian, not a bad entendre

At least in theory this statement is cool, Idk about practice sorry

Lena is also a huge river in Siberia
The Dutch have a name that was pretty common that is literally dick in English.
"Dick" is a name in English.
Dickinson is also a surname in England.
I was 11 or 12 and was assigned Emily Dickinson for a school assignment about poets, I had to do all the research at home because the school computers blocked everything, even the Wikipedia article
I've been aware of the Scunthorpe problem ever since
Sounds gay lol
I only know one Dickinson and sure enough, he is
as it was foretold...
Sounds incestuous
I know, it's the same name, but the post is about your name meaning something vulgar in a foreign language so i felt it had more relevance that way.
The English have a name that was pretty common that is literally Dick in English
Yes it's the same name, the Dutch and the English are neighbours.
You know about the thousands of people named "Dick"? Even in English speaking countries?
Many have last names like Longfellow, Pound, Johnson, Cox, and at least one Butkus
No te preocupes Concha
Ti lenuh
Just own that name you like. There have been cars by major companies named "Wanker" in foreign languages, and it didn't matter. As long you aren't living in an english speaking country and choose "Thundercunt McCumdribble" as a name, it's not an issue lol
I know of a Ukrainian Lena who's industrious AF.
A colleague's name was (probably still is) Yoni. Just go for it!
isn't that just hebrew for John/Johnny?
Not sure. This was a woman. And in Hindi(?) it means vagina.
Yes it does, in modern parlance. From what I can tell though it;s older Sanskrit meaning was "the source" in relationship to life, or the divine creation, and could mean womb, etc.. but the name is still common today because it has long standing traditional spiritual meaning, and is less seen for the modern use of the word. It is also the base of Yonic, or vaginal like.
Met a guy who changed his last name to Supern***er. Yes, of course he is white. So do whatever.
