No, I am claustrophobic and also my mental health deteriorates severely when I can't get out in nature.

When I was a kid, I thought living in an arcology or on a space station like DS9 would be good for my agoraphobia. More recently (thanks to therapy) I've realized that I'm not actually afraid of being outside, I'm afraid of being perceived by other people. Inside is still bad if people can see through my windows, but outside is really good if I'm like 50 km away from the nearest human other than my wife.

Sign me up to live on a Culture ship and take drugs with weird hyper sentient AIs.

That is literally my ultimate fantasy. My dreams end out having lore and my really really good ones involve me and a whole bunch of really excited people being among the first to go to a liveable and well tested space colony. My profile pic is no coincidence but I had these dreams before I watched gundam. I love sci fi and space is the place. I would be siked. I would wanna get a job working on the station. That sounds amazing.

I prefer living in places without the threat of being sucked into hard vacuum

But I do like the idea of living in a giant man-made structure and have always enjoyed being on ferries and things like that. As you said, at a large enough scale it might as well just be a city you can't leave and I've always been fine just going to places I can walk to

One of the best periods of my life was during lockdown because I could regiment my life pretty well, and spend some time in nature by myself, while socializing digitally, so I feel the bit about having a regimented life that was adapted to my neuro diversity really helped me. But no nature? F that

If the space habitat was zero covid and I could practice martial arts socially again, it would be much happier than my present circumstances. I think I would miss it if the domed gardens didn't have seasons, and ecosystems complex enough to give surprises to onboard ecologists.

Depends, are there other people on there? Like, if it’s basically a city, just in space, I wouldn’t mind. I would worry about my mental health and my general well-being if it was just a handful to a dozen people. Plus, I wanna be able to date and live a little. You can’t really do that with a super low population unless you’re very lucky.

Now, if the answer is that it has a real population pool, plus visitors and people coming and going, Id say I would be open to giving it a try for sure

Absolutely. I honestly think my life would be better in basically every single way. I already avoid natural light like a vampire.

No. No way. One of my measures of a city is if I can pick a direction on a street and just go for any significant stretch of time. And that street being lively and engaging requires its own economy and also I'd be really bummed if that was the only street or even only city. So I'd need a whole lot of cities with their own supporting economies and histories etc. so we end up taking the whole planet with us.
