Car brains sneering at unhoused people and addicts, and not stopping to think about how a society that shuns public works might lead to these scaaaary daaaangerous people existing. Typical.
In so much as it's dangerous, it's really a question of whether your community is dangerous. A dangerous community is a problem whether you're walking, subway-ing, or even isolated away in little cars; removing access to (for instance) the subway in new York will not make people safer or reduce the 0ublic disturbances that occur there
Do you consider danger risk of death or risk of pickpocket?
Danger of crashing is lower.
Danger of being stabbed is higher.

Pretty sure this is a purposeful misunderstanding of why people think public transit is more dangerous than driving.
It had nothing to do with vehicle or crash safety.
When driving my own car, the likelihood of getting stabbed by a crackhead wanting my wallet is basically zero.
Even if the public transit events are rare, I find it hard to believe that road rage that actually goes all the way to violence (versus just aggressive driving and talk) is more common still.
