Space is a neutral zone like the Antarctic. Like they have any right to bring weaponry over there.

Rather than having weaponry to protect Earth against external threats like asteroids, they’d point the weapons inwards to oppress the population of Earth.

This administration should be dismantled as soon as possible. It’s toxic to the world.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Like Israel has ever cared about laws or decency.

What, a fine upstanding state like Israel? Never.

I didn't read the article, I would assume no one reading it is dumb enough to think Israel has any intention of using weapons deployed in space for anything other than killing Muslim schoolchildren. And probably eventually Jewish schoolchildren who's parents don't align with Zionism.

[–] adwijoma@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

With the US footing the bill, I'm guessing.

[–] neobunch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And you'd be correct. The only reason Israel is a tech powerhouse is them having a captive and defenseless population in which to field-test anything they come up with, AND THEN have everything paid for by the US taxpayer.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

As much as we can shit on them, but 4 billion military assistance from the USA does NOT pay everything given the military budget of more than 10x that at 45 billion $. It is a rich country.

[–] mlg@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

They want a global nuclear strike capability that doesn't rely on making the US do the threat for them.

Also probably a faster nuclear deployment time against Pakistan or I guess any other nuclear power.

You mean Space Lazers or dare I say... Jewish Space Lazers?

I miss living in a time when that was a funny statement

We're Jews out in space
We're zooming along protecting the Hebrew race
We're Jews out in space
If trouble appears we put it right back in its place

When goyim attack us
We give 'em a smack
We'll slap them right back in the face

And here I was, thinking the Jewish space lasers are just a silly conspiracy.

When have conspiracy theories turned into trailers?

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 days ago

Turns our the disheveled schizophrenic on my street corner actually did have insider knowledge.

What, they suddenly realise there's babies and children in places other than Palestine, or something?

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

Gotta keep the war hate machine going

Some kind of laser? In space? Controlled by who?!

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

Israel will set them up to fire on everyone if they ever fall. It's the same thing with their nuclear arsenal, but even more out of reach. That's what they use when they can't bribe politicians to support them.

[–] infinitevalence@discuss.online 57 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So....a Jewish space laser controlled by the Rothschild's?

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Unfortunately the Rothschilds have been basically irrelevant since WWII so it'll be controlled by someone else, but yes.

[–] infinitevalence@discuss.online 11 points 3 days ago

It's still sad that the line between satire and reality is so blurred that my post is taken at have value.

I do not trust an evil nation like Israel with weapons like this. Not at all.

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't trust any nation with weapons like these....

I thought there were agreements regarding the fact that weapons should not be deployed to space.

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 56 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Israel's track record of abiding by international laws and treaties is.... Well. Less than stellar.

[–] jamesrandi@lemmy.zip 13 points 3 days ago

Baddum - Tsss...

Ha! Israel following agreements regarding weapons. Ahh ... good one!

[–] unknown@piefed.social 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah but as we all know by now, it's considered deeply antisemetic to say no to israel.

Hang on, isn't "the only reason we (US) haven't done that is because it's illegal and also I'm pretty sure we've secretly done that already?"

I mean, it's clear international law no longer applies but isn't this another example of that?

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 37 points 3 days ago (3 children)

They need to be able to orbitally bombard Palestinian schoolchildren - matter of national security

Capable of targeting a specific orphan at a specific hospital and obliterating the whole fucking thing from high earth orbit.

[–] Phantom_Feline17@lemmy.zip 26 points 3 days ago

Just when you thought they couldn't get evil enough, now we have literal Saturday morning cartoon villain levels of evil!

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 3 days ago

Ah yes, like the nazis with the V2, the first rocket to reach space! They are so on track with the nazi agenda.

[–] Asidonhopo@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Frankly terrifying. Like, imagine if the Nazis had been first to develop nuclear weapons kind of terrifying.

This will result in the station getting blown and a lot of space debrees. I don't think it is gonna be a good tool, USA already had Rods from God idea and it wasn't implemented cause the cost/effect is questionable.

I’m so sad that he passed away. I’ve always loved to see his shit eating grinning face even when I was a kid. At least he’s not suffering anymore

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

And make US pay for it

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Well, we had a good run. Pack it in, folks.
