The less cool answer is that it’s a great opportunity to talk to your kids about bodily autonomy. You’re in control of how you want your body to look, same as your child. Obviously don’t say, “Well this makeup is trash. SEE YA! wipe wipe wipe” Maybe talk about what you like and what you don’t.

But remember that the actual answer is that you’re not allowed to wash it off.

Personally, I'd let them sleep in makeup. It's the equivalent of letting your kid burn their hand on the hot stove. Warn them that if they don't wash off their makeup before bed, it'll get itchy in the morning, but give them the freedom to make that choice and learn from it.

The kid did your makeup so when you would normally take your makeup off - at night before bed.
