She's looking for a sugar daddy, or she's a hypocrite. I'm betting she doesn't realize the implications with this one.
It makes a good point though. What is the saying....

Depends on the field, I guess. I think the difference in getting ahead is more often in pleasing your superiors than in being objectively the best person at a job.
Alternatively if you want to play risky, please the superiors of a department tangential to your own to try and get internally poached.
