It's such a shame. Harry Potter was a great series of books with great stories and characters that many millenials grew up with.

It's a shame its author is such a fucking cunt and ruined the whole franchise for everybody.

Hp was loved, by myself, too. But even then, I'm not sure I'd ever thought of hp as great, just "comfortably decent enough".

But yeah, jkr is a fucking monster.

Tim Horton's hasn't been Canadian (or good) for a long time now, so I'm not surprised that they are being shitty.

[–] rozodru@piefed.world 4 points 9 hours ago

last week I went to a Tims cause I hadn't been in awhile and just wanted a large double double and 10 timbits. I felt like death after eating those timbits. god damn horrible. Coffee hadn't improved at all either. Was just muddy sugar water.

Honestly, I had Tim's a week or so back and it was way better than I remember it being. Had a breakfast wrap and it was well constructed, stuffed, and tasted good.

Then not more than a day or two later, someone brought Tim's donuts to work, and those too were better than I remembered.

Nope, just a genuine lived experience. My partner and I usually go to A&W for breakfast stuff, and this was just an unusual circumstance. Since it just happened in my recent memory, and I saw the comment above, I thought I'd chime in. You know, the kind of thing that social platforms were designed for.

How dare someone describe a personal experience that doesn't match the narrative!

Found Doug Ford’s account!

They’re better than 5 years ago for sure, but still not as good as 15 years ago.

If you’re doing fast food A&W Canada is basically the best, but thankfully there’s a new generation of competition all around.

[–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 1 points 7 hours ago

My partner and I generally do A&W for on the road breakfast, but this was an unusual morning and Tim's was way more convenient this time. And then, for the donuts, I mean I didn't pay for them.

I actually can't compare to 15 years ago personally.

Tim Hortons is anti-canadian, full stop.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 19 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

It's pretty on brand tho. Harry Potter is essentially a half baked story with bad tasting holiday/ethnic sprinkles

[–] CapuccinoCoretto@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago

Tim Horton's is disgusting and inedible. They are dead to me.

[–] happy_wheels@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 12 hours ago

You'd think somebody in upper management would be smart enough to push back - actually I should just stop there. Nobody in upper management thinks. They just go where the money is, and rely on time to fix whatever damaged the brand's reputation.

The last movie is 15 years old ! Seriously can we forget about it ?

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 9 hours ago

HBO Max is producing a series - one season per book. Iirc, season one already aired.

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 4 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

The terf wrote a new book or two on the IP, maybe there was a movie recently or something.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 hours ago

Not even a terf at this point, just a full blown trad fasc in actions and effect. Her words are extremist, disgusting, and horrific.. and her effective outcomes are just fascist at this point.

[–] Vedlt@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I think they are remaking the movies or there is a show being produced now, I vaguely recall hearing something along those lines.

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Yes that is right I think I hear about a TV show as well, I hope it flops horribly and the media decides the IP is worthless now.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 hours ago

When most of your primary original cast refuses to work with you because you're an evil person.

I will not being purchasing anything from Tim Hortons for the duration of this promotion

At least they're honest about their morals.

I haven't bought anything from them in ages. I can't even remember the last time I stepped into one and ordered food.

[–] Reannlegge@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Tim Hortons is now dead to me I did enjoy eating the occasional doughnut but that is it no more.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 hours ago

If I wasn't already doing that I could join you, I just found it comical that in their announcement of a boycott they promised to come back without any change.
