“Look, we live in dangerous times,” Johnson said. “We’re fighting communism on our own shores, and we’re fighting evil terrorists and tyrants around the world, and we have to be able to protect our national security.”

"Our" national security? No, your national security. I'm the enemy. I'm the one who needs to be eliminated, or otherwise removed from this country, according to you, even though I'm a born and raised American citizen. Fuck your security.

Fuck, parts of my family have definitely been here longer than most current politician's families, but apparently I'm a domestic terrorist.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

One of my familial branches has been here since before fuckin James Town, we came over with a Jesuit mission somewhere on the east coast want to say Mid-Atlantic but the oral traditions forgot so I don't have that knowledge.

If we pool together all of our money, we can finally defeat communism

Chef’s kiss

Wonder how they’ll get around the Posse Comitatus Act.

The same way they got around existing law in a number of other cases in the past years: ignoring it, or letting SCOTUS decide that it's OK. Or claiming "national emergency".

Not saying the courts shouldn't fight back though.

Also, sheesh, still with the communism? I thought they'd at least switched to socialism. Talk about an all-time classic boogeyman.

[–] Dryad@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Many in Congress are old enough that McCarthyism still seems like current events.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 2 points 1 month ago

People like my dad, who grew up in the 70s and early 80s, still jump at the mention of the dirty evil C word

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

They looooove the golden oldies. And their target audience is probably Faux News and the hate radio listener.

Also, nearly ALL of these assholes equate socialism with communism. And the ones that don't say they are the same thing will typically claim socialism is a slippery slope straight to Soviet style communism under Stalin.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 month ago

AKA imprison political opponents.

[–] MrSulu@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Communists officially defined as anyone who disagrees with the words that come out of his mouth. Terms and conditions apply - Words may change at any time.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Just look at the history of red scares. Usually it had very little to do with "Communism", if anything at all. It was just about the primacy of the xtian taliban.

[–] tea_n_typewriters@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

I’ve been working for the last 22 hours and haven’t heard anything about communism.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ok Mike, better check up on what kind of porn your son is wanking off too right now. Fucking weirdo.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I want Mikey Johnson to share his browser history.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

I bet it is VERY enlightening. And by that I mean horrifying.

[–] Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Don't y'all have freedom of speech or some shit? Shouldn't political views be protected speech?

A quick side note for those not familiar with the American South, this is pronounced with three syllables.

Oh of course they do 🙄

Communists? Really? It's been over 50 years since the Powell memo was released.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_F._Powell_Jr.

Stop with the flowery language and just come out and say you represent corporate interests, and will ensure anybody who gets in the way of those interests will be labeled either a communist/terrorist/antifa or some kind of combined threat: commterroant

I feel like we should all stop using the term antifa and demand they stop using the term antifa. Bc they need to be forced to acknowledge in all official documents that their targets are now officially antifascists.

Oh btw how's it going prosecuting LITERALLY ANYBODY in the Epstein files? 🦗🦗🦗

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fuck you Mike Johnson. Meet me outside. I'll fight you for free.

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 month ago

Afterwards, I’m fighting Stephen Miller in the parking lot.

[–] Floon@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I just can’t stand his oily smarmy face, or his patronizing responses to questions. He’s everything repugnant.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Yep. I think you are not alone in that. I hate how he seems to be constantly in total confusion about what the de facto leader of his party and the man he wants to be king is up to on any given day.

He never has any fucking clue - or so he claims - about anything Donvict has said or done. I'm not sure I've ever seen someone so oblivious - or pretending to, more likely - about what his own group is up to.

It's absolutely infuriating. And he knows he'll get no follow up on what he thinks about it later because there will be some new shitstorm the next time he has to face a volley of softballs from reporters.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Now they come for the unions, the teachers, the professors, the worker’s rights supporters.

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Lol so he wants the military to lose another war? At least we'd save money not fighting on the other side of the world.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Remember that pretty much everything not viewed positively by the Seven Mountain Mandate types was labeled "Communist subversion": atheism, Teh Ghey, uppity women, civil rights, being anti-war, etc...

Also, never forget this:

Little Mikey Johnson is a 7MM type.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What is a 7mm type? What does that even mean? Is that some kind of mechanics' joke? Does he prefer smaller rounds than 9mm? Does he like watching seven male-on-male countless couples copulate?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

7MM = Seven Mountain Mandate.

The very fact that Mikey Johnson being part of that cult is not common knowledge demonstrates that the notion of having a "liberal media" cannot even pass the laugh test.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Mountain_Mandate#Prominent_followers

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ugh. Thanks for that, Charles Darwin. Glad I now have that piece of knowledge rattling around in the ol' noodle.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

🫡

Honestly, every American should know just who and what these people are. The "liberal media" does a terrible job of letting people know just how extremist the conservatives and their party really are.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

I knew he was extremely dangerous fascist scum, but I didn't know the details of this aspect. Feel free to post this around, I'm sure plenty more people need to know.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Tru dat. I heard we have government sponsored gas stations and partial ownership of tech companies.

[–] decapitae@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

Nazis. They seem confused and frantic - now is the time to vote, boycott, protest, and generally resist the evil criminals

[–] spitfire@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I think you all need whatever he describes as „communism”.

[–] TwodogsFighting 3 points 1 month ago
[–] InvalidName2@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Are the communists in the room with him right now?

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

COMMUNISTS IN EVERY WOODPILE!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Haha, that's a real ad! McCarthyism finds its way into consumerism.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I saw this poster in so many dorm rooms.

[–] NM_Gringo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What would possess him to say something so monumentally stupid?

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I think you're underestimating their malice.
