Binface has 4-1 odds to win, so there seems to be a very real chance he wins this election.
Which would be absolutely hilarious.
It's Count Binface. For now. I don't think that a peer can serve in the House of Commons, so I think that he might just have to give up his title and serve as Binface if elected.
"Count" is not a valid title in the British peerage. The equivalent rank in the UK is "earl". Though if he wins, I think it'd be a moment of immense cultural significance so he should immediately be elevated to the Lords as a life peer, just to make the title official. He can be Britain's only living count.

The Norman-derived equivalent count (from Latin comes) was not introduced following the Norman Conquest of England though countess was and is used for the female title. Geoffrey Hughes writes, "It is a likely speculation that the Norman French title 'Count' was abandoned in England in favour of the Germanic 'Earl' [...] precisely because of the uncomfortable phonetic proximity to cunt".[7]
I imagine that Count Binface simply doesn't fear such proximity.
To think we were this close to having Count Grey tea...

Farage or Jon Harvey?
I read some speculation today that British election law might be interpreted to mean that if Jon Harvey wins the election as Count Binface, then he would not only be permitted to wear the Binface costume and persona while sitting in the house but he would be required to. Since it's Count Binface that the people chose and gave the mandate to, not some regular old human schlub named Jon Harvey.
Presumably there'd be nothing wrong with him taking it off when not on official business and having a secret identity that way, but for votes and whatnot he'd have to don the cape and bin.

Clacton has never been an important place in history. For the most part, Clacton was an irrelevant back corner that nobody cared about.
The people of Clacton have been giften an unique opportunity to change that forever. If Clacton votes for the intergalactic space lord Count Binface, the name Clacton-on-Sea will never be forgotten.
Clacton would also be the first place ruled by an intergalactic bin. A small step for bins. A tremendous leap for binkind
Of course if Clapton hadn't voted for the joke candidate the first time around they wouldn't be in this position.
I set my hopes on Count Binface. Although if he actually wins, he will face an interesting challenge in parliament. As far I remember, hats (and probably helmets, too) are not allowed in the House.
Sinn fein just don't turn up - can't he do the same?
I feel like his novelty would wear off if he actually appeared in Parliament. He'd probably be told that the costume won't be allowed and then become an abstentionist in protest.
Don't be pessimistic. Look up Martin Sonneborn, MEP. He got voted into the EU parliament in 2015 with his purely satirical party "Die PARTEI" and is still there, because he does a comparatively good job. While still being satirical.

The title should have been: Farage, left, fighting a trash can.
I think they could do some great campaigning with a little bit of real effort:

have people walking around campaigning for him dressed as binmen and cleaning up trash

some art work of binface overhead throwing farage into a bin, "clean up Clacton, bin Farage. Vote Binface"
But the decision was quickly dismissed by his usual sparring partners. The UK’s main political parties – the ruling Labour Party, the right-wing Conservative Party and the centrist Liberal Democrats – all announced they would boycott the Clacton vote.
What would happen to the election if Farage was the only candidate?
Then he's guaranteed to win and will be declared elected.

Pretty much, also means Farage can't claim that the people have shown they don't care about his money because he was voted in a second time.
What can happen is if Farage wins, the investigation continues and there's a very real chance he'll be suspended so another election will be called.
Each election costs about 450k of public money, so Count Binface can say that just by electing him and him doing literally nothing, he's saving the public nearly half a million quid.
