"This is the official community for Brayland Union, a micronation asserting sovereignty over asteroid 468 Lina (also designated 1901 FZ, A915 PA, and A918 EB).

This is a place to discuss Brayland Union, its development, and other micronation news."

Stumbled across this when my app accidentally showed me all instead of local and I got clickbaited into reading the comments on a post titled "AI for President? Here's why, as an AI expert, I think it could happen by 2032"

I don't think you can declare yourselves citizens of a place you've never been too and no one on earth has any way of ever reaching. At least the Sealand guys actually went to their micronation at some point.

And honestly, the way the US is going it wouldn't surprise me if the republicans did nominate Grok for president in 2032 and the Democrats fumble the easiest win they could possibly ever have and end up losing to a chatbot.

Hold on, hear me out, let them cook on this.

Best case scenario, a bunch of idiot libertarians accidentally help make space travel easier OR blow themselves up in a hilarious way (probably the latter).

Worst case scenario, all the libertarians are on an asteroid far away from us. No downsides.

Most likely scenario though, they just declare themselves citizens without ever bothering to go to the asteroid, but insist that they are immune to earth law (libertarian-alert )

Earth law perhaps, but none escape Martian Law and the rule of the Knights of Mars!

This is more unrealistic than a Mars settlement by a magnitude, and given how unrealistic Mars plans are with billionaire backing I'm not sure their "breyland" is even a good ttrpg campaign idea
