Now this is a sticker I want. Gonna start slapping this puppy on gas pumps over the stupid "I did that!" Biden stickers.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 40 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Pro tip: there are now Trump "i did that" stickers on Amazon for CHEAP.

Bonus: it's the picture of him looking into the eclipse with no eye protection and pointing

[–] IratePirate@feddit.org 25 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

...and by buying them on Amazon, you're filling the coffers of fascist supporter Bezos. How ironic.

For nearly 600,000 Americans who trusted a brand built on the Trump name, the gold phone has become the latest entry in a long record of ventures that took their money and delivered nothing.

They wanted a Trump experience and they got one. Could argue they got what they paid for.

[–] generic_computers@lemmy.zip 17 points 4 days ago (4 children)

There's also no evidence that they sold 600k phones. They couldn't just made that number up.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.cafe 70 points 4 days ago (7 children)

I can't believe they got screwed by Biden AGAIN!

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 37 points 4 days ago

Thanks, Obama !

this is important to understand: they weren't buying the phone. they were owning the libs. For every magat who's furious, there's four to six hogs who'll feel good because all they care is that you don't want that money go to him.

They never learn, do they? The grift that just keeps on giving.

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 168 points 4 days ago (7 children)

Honestly, at this point I think MAGA are just fin-subs and like it that way. Keep sending Daddy Don your social security checks you little fin-cucks.

I would grant them a modicum of grace if they hadn't had 40 fucking years to see what he was about. But they had it. And they chose this.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 43 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But The Apprentice!

(Apparently all the real business guys were too busy, that's how the producers picked Trump.)

If you willingly gave money to a two-bit con-artist who is widely known for robbing or defrauding nearly everyone he has ever done business with, then you got what you had coming.

Can't feel bad for people who got conned by a con man and now are suckers and losers for getting scammed.

[–] odama626@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

I mean, I have a feeling that a lot of these pre-orders or $100 deposits were probably bulk purchased by CEOs as bribes.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 86 points 4 days ago (4 children)

The clearest signal yet that buyers may never see either a phone or their money came with a revised terms of service published on 6 April 2026. The updated document states explicitly that paying a deposit 'does not constitute a completed purchase and does not create a binding legal contract.' The payment is described as 'a conditional opportunity to buy the device if Trump Mobile eventually chooses to sell it,' with the company retaining all control over whether a phone is produced at all.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 63 points 4 days ago (8 children)

That is absolutely fucking hilarious.

I also don't think contracts work that way, otherwise that shit would be WAY more common. heh. But I'm also pretty sure nobody will see a penny back anyway.

I'd feel bad for them if they weren't fucking in the middle of turning our nation into a fascist hellhole.

Normally I feel sorry for people who get scammed but in this case shitty people getting scammed by the scammer they inflicted on the rest of us don't get my sympathy.

LMAO. I LOVE IT. Such an American thing for a president to scam his own voters. Literally scam them out of money.

They will moan a bit and then say "I would vote for him again" 🀣🀣🀣

You mean to tell me the con man scammed them out of their money? Shocking. /s

Seriously it would be more surprising if they did come out.

And people are now getting emails saying that their phone will never arrive, with no mention of them getting their deposits back.

Anyone have the text of the actual email?

When your president they just let you do it.

Some days I wish I could just put my morals/ethics aside. One good grift and I could be rolling in MAGA money till the day I die.

It's unfortunate I'm unwilling to compromise myself and forgo peaceful sleep for the rest of my life.

In a logical world, this would result in 600k less electors for the orange buffon, wouldn't it?

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 17 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

In a logical world this would result in a different president right away but this is the, what, tenth time this is happening? I lost count honestly. The trump coins, the gold phones, the tariffs etc etc. One way or another they were all designed to funnel money from the poor (and sometimes the stupid) to the rich.

Sounds like a perfect time to introduce the all new Trump Phone 2.

If only I wasnt so lazy, and had all these pesky morals.

Why do people really fall for this? And even worse: Who buys a Trump phone?

There are cult followers that have had cult leaders predict the rapture on multiple events and their followers still think it's gonna happen one of these times. Sometimes it's easier to believe insanity than they could be wrong.

The fact that Trump or any of his family will never see the inside of a cell is the single largest thing that destroyed my faith in humanity.

As I pointed out a year ago, this phone never existed.

They just waited until it was too late to do credit card chargebacks before pulling the rug. I've seen it on Kickstarter dozens of times.

Anyone else find it hard to believe that there were 600,00 orders for this. That feels like another money laundering situation.

Edit: 600K

What do you mean it was all a scam? Trump is a god fearing Christian! Surely it is the fault of the next non-republican president from the future!
