For Americans, for the rest of us, we can confidently say, you failed to win a war you started for no reason at all, your country has become an utter failure, no one can trust a single thing coming out of your country, from the food, to the media, to the words of the president, absolutely nothing is trusted with the american seal of approval, your tech industry is just an extension of the goverment now, so can't trust that either.

I'll give you one thing tho, you are unifying the world in mockery of your sad pathetic actions.

It's treason to be Putin's bitch.

Shame no one has the power, or the balls to hold the traitor accountable.

It was treason to launch an insurrection against the United States on January 1st, 2021.

It was treason to send the US to war in Iran, unauthorized by Congress, spending US taxpayer dollars, depleting US munitions stockpiles, throwing away US lives, alienating US allies, ruining US strategic defense posture, devastating US soft power, and tanking the US economy.

These are only some of the examples of treason Donny has committed. The full list would be much longer.

If the goal of the war was to increase gas prices by about 50%, murder a bunch of random schoolchildren, and accomplish nothing else, then they're doing a real bang up job of it.

If the law punished real treason, then the entirety of the Heritage Foundation, AFPI, the Republican Party, heck, the majority of evangelicals would be swinging

Trump thinks any criticism of him and his failures is treason.

he likes to frame it as treason, because he wants to kill people who are critical and oppose him.

It is Treasonous for the President to not uphold the Constitution.

The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.

Republicans continuing their quest to dilute the impact and meaning of the word treason.

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 17 points 1 month ago

Much like Israel diluting the meaning of antisemitic. Fascist dictatorships tend to do that.

Trump keeps pointing to “their navy is gone their air force is gone” as proof the US is winning.

Years ago Iran evaluated what kind of a war they might face, and determined that their best shot was through massive amounts of ballistic missiles, drones, and small watercraft. This meant significantly de-prioritizing a traditional air force and navy. So yeah, they don’t have really any capital ships or fighter jets, but they never had much of those in the first place and haven’t been prioritizing that part of their military. But their missile and drone stocks - to say nothing of actual soldiers in their army btw - are all still doing pretty great actually. Destroyers and interceptor jets aren’t going to win the war for Iran and that was never their plan anyway.

The US is absolutely NOT winning this war, and they will not be able win this war.

Im not going to say we're not winning. We lost. We could not take a single strategic objective and we just called it off. We lost freedom of navigation, american lives, and any perception of military strength. All our soft power and hard power gone all at once. in 60 days. Trump did more for Irans death the America calls than any army could

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

  • Constitution. Article III, section 3.

The truth, since he wants people to know it, is they assassinated the leaders & military infrastructure hoping Iran would collapse. And when it didn't there was no plan. Generals and regional experts presumably advised on the sheer stupidity of the attack but none had the balls to resign. So now there is an oil crisis, and when the war is over Iran will emerge from this even more entrenched and dominant than ever.

Why are Americans so weak and ineffective? why are they ok being led by a demented, racist, old pervert?

[–] Zink@programming.dev 16 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I think there is a real, deep seated conditioned response in a lot of Americans to just assume things will work out and it will be OK in the long run. Basically a form of privilege to not worry about the problems of the world because somebody else will definitely fix it.

I'm a white male american born into conservative culture who grew up in the 80s and 90s , and I definitely had that feeling instilled in my head along the way. For gen x and boomers who spent more of their early years in more of the post-ww2 US dominance, it's probably worse.
