/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

that is very much the wrong text color for a black background

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I hate the current internet, everything is light yellow text on white background or dark blue on black.

People figured this shit out way back in the 50s and 60s of the previous century, and yet, somehow that knowledge just... Poof, gone.

I just put whatever colors for text. Some of us don’t care if you can’t read it. I like the colors i use.

Well Picard certainly doesn't own the Enterprise, but he also isn't paying rent. Is he a squatter ringleader?

[–] okwhateverdude@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

He's paying rent every time he needs to ferry annoying diplomats around that make him wear funny hats and say weird shit.

[–] Deebster@infosec.pub 4 points 2 months ago

He's definitely not the landlord, but perhaps he's in the 24th century version of Occupy Wall Street - Occupy Starfleet.

Post-scarcity. If you need somewhere to live you can just get the replicator to make you one.

"If your mission is to seek out new life, why did you go into space where there's literally nothing there?"

P: I command the whole ship.

C: Does that include the women's restroom?

P: ...

They obviously have bathrooms separated not by gender but by anatomical needs. Usage depends on what kind of organ(s) your species defecates from.

[–] RamenJunkie@midwest.social 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I always assumed they were just a Transporter but you don't really go anywhere. Cleans you too.

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Starfleet will surely accommodate the time-honoured ritual of taking 15 minutes to crap to get away from your superior. I refuse to believe they'd disrespect people's mental health like that.

[–] RamenJunkie@midwest.social 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Now I am imagining someone just "transporting" for 15 mimutes.

That explains the 1000 yard stare on the chief.

Of all the random-ass templates I've put out there, this one brings me the most joy.

(Not this but you know what I mean)

[–] RamenJunkie@midwest.social 1 points 2 months ago

Because of the way Jerboa handles opening and reading comments I can't figure out how to make this one go unread and go away and I am ok with that.

[–] GunValkyrie@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

It's too late. I've seen everything.

How did Star Trek deal with influencers?
