I feel like the main discussion of this conflict should be about the complete destruction of American oil competitors. The goals in 2026 seem clear.

    1. Destroy OPEC oil refineries, prevent the conflict allowing for a quick rebuild. Push blame on Iran and Israel for destruction.
    1. Allow Ukraine to bomb Russian Oil and Gas sites. While loosening sanctions on Russia and placing blame on Ukraine alone.
    1. Allow Chevron to take over Venezuelan oil reserves, make the barrel price so high that building refineries is economically viable.
    1. America bullies NAFTA to limit oil sales to allies.
    1. Prevent any renewable energy development in America and its Vassal / Allied states. Reopen arctic and deep sea oil production
    1. Push America/Mexico/Canada/Venezuala as the world’s primary oil producer, hoping to get over 50% of yearly barrel production.

At a time where renewables and degrowth should be a globally enforced policy, American oil is setting themselves for their most productive and dominant period in history. In line with the buildup of data centers, they will have an industry in need of energy until the end of time. After the minuscule threat posed by public opinion favoring renewable energy in the Obama era, they have responded with overwhelming force. They are literally attempting their takeover of the planet and are clearly the only winners.

But that's the thing, West Asian Oil was already American Oil. The Gulf States are part of the continuum, US colonial control of Iraq's economy was more or less uncontested. With US sweet crude flatlining for years, US gas and shale-gas at capacity since the Ukraine War began, Canada and Mexico being, in essense, annexes of the US economy this entire misadventure is a net loss to US control of the oil markets.

They didn't go into Iran as part of a grand strategy. They went into Iran because Netanyahu and others assured Trump it was gonna be easy pickings. Now Iranian Oil might make a come back like never before.

This is doomer "America and Trump are genius masterminds" conspiracy bullshit.

Which makes it likely Trump believes it.

But with those oil prices everyone and their mother is trying to get solar panels.

If they plan to dump the price after rebuilding the Venezuela capacity, by that time it's gonna dump itself due to electrification.

Sure, you can't make plastic out of solar energy

I think you are right, but I also think war with China is part of this plan.

If they succeed in creating an energy stranglehold, before China can supply the world, they can hold other countries hostage via energy needs while engaged in the largest international conflict humanity has faced.

American Big Oil is no longer planning its slow pace integration into renewables and carbon storage, its new plan is subjugation.

The Ramadan War has proved beyond a doubt that the United States cannot go to war with China. If Iran, which has no functional air force and basically no modern air defenses, can win against the United States, retaining its missile launching capability and keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, all using some drones and ballistic missiles, imagine what China, with the third largest air force that includes 5th and soon to be 6th generation fighters, potentially the world's most advanced air defense system (Russia's might be better), and the ability to produce thousands of drones and missiles per day at the drop of a hat because they have like 50% of the entire Earth's industrial capacity. Regardless of what the Americans plan, there can be no war with China because they will be eradicated.

That would require isolating China internationally which is impossible at this point. The US is in the process of losing its death grip on international finance and commodities. The sanction regime on Iran is dying because countries are being forced to open up diplomacy and trade with Iran to pay the tolls for the strait of hormuz and that's been in place for decades. Trying to achieve that with China just can't be done since countries would be committing economic suicide. The only countries that would be stupid enough to do that would be the satanically racist euro vassals and Argentina.

Canada is going to get hard by the imperial boomerang soon after feeding into it over the past couple decades. Europe won't come to the rescue when they're separated by a heavily fortified ocean.

If it weren't for Canada and the U.S. being split up they'd be black too like saudi Arabia! thinking-about-it

Greenland strategy seems part of this

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 4 points 4 days ago

With Greenland we saw the limit of the European response. "Mr. Hitler sir, we let you take Austria and Czechoslovakia sir but you better not take Poland sir or eLSE sir. kitty-cri-potato". Denmark sent sacrificial troops to absorb one day of the munitions used against Iran, but there was no more consequence from NATO or the EU than any of Trump's other threats against them.

Your analysis makes sense to me. Also supports why Trump was messing with Nigeria a few months back
