Per the company, “Paramount will oversee direct development, creation and production of the Paramount Global Publishing books, with sales and distribution into the retail market to be handled by a yet-to-be-named partner.”

Paramount says it will continue its existing licensing strategy with publishers and distributors.

It’s interesting.

Clearly Skydance/Ellison sees the synergistic value in integrating publishing with screen media even if the Redmonds were just stripping assets.

Hopefully this doesn't impact my ability to buy them DRM-free. Ugh.

At least with S&S, they would release them without DRM after 5 years. That's 5 years too long, but better than nothing I suppose.

It sounds like they'll be continuing the Trek license with S&S for the time being, but for how long as anyone's guess...
