I am sure he is a vile and disgusting person for completely unrelated reasons but I hate how having a kink is made out to be some shameful and horrible defect that you can be "accused" of and have to keep secret.

It's because sex is shameful, religion said so. It's wild how deeply ingrained this bullshit is.
A lot of hate for groups like trans and queer people really does feel like it's rooted in historically christian self-shaming for sexual desires or kinks. When people are taught to repress something there is always a segment who express that repression by directing hate at those they view as not doing so. For the repressed, seeing others who are free feels like a personal attack.

I think it's also an overcompensation, covering up the repressed feelings by loudly demonstrating how much you hate it.

I dont know if this is some further pathology of their sexuality and politics, but like, I think the shame, knowing its wrong to them is part of the kink. Like it feels connected to the want to be oppressed, to find a justification in existence like that. For some elites that seems like it also drifts towards pedophilia but also things like drug use and abortion where they can understand these things better as being wrong by engaging in them but being superior to everyone else, can excuse themselves from being included.
Its such a weird mix of individualism and supremacy, while still wanting to exist and realize themselves without being able to know what that means. A total emptiness of the nihilism of the upper class.
