Yeah, I could see that. Which is one reason why I think Jennifer English in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 worked so well. She's an amazing voice actor and played a roll that was basically nothing like Shadowheart. After an hour of playing you don't even notice they are the same voice anymore. If Neil Newbon did "the Astarion thing" in another game it'd just be pandering for the sake of money and that seems disingenuous.

Wait, WHAT?? How on earth did i miss that both were voiced by Jennifer English, and i played them right after one another. Wow. Just... Wow.

The one that blew my mind about Expedition 33 is that Renoir is voiced by Andy Serkis, the voice of Gollum in Lord of the Rings. That dude has range.

Both Baldur's 3 gate and Expedition 33 have amazing voice talent.

Hehe, when i was playing it, my wife shouted from the other room "I can hear Andy Serkis" 😁 he has great range, and if you haven't seen him in Andor, i would recommend the series (and I'm not a Star Wars fan at all!), but if not interested, check out the scenes with him on YouTube (or something similar). He does a great job!

Don't beat yourself up. It was a blind audition and the director and the writer of E33 didn't recognise her either although they were both playing BG3 at the time.

She voiced also Latenna the Albinauric in Elden Ring.

I agree that the roles are very different, but not recognising her is crazy to me. Jennifer English has one of the most distinctive voices I've ever heard, so much so that I'm wary of getting a little burned out on her just like I was on Matt Mercer. Though she is not as ubiquitous (yet).

This is not a slight on her voice acting (she is very good) she just always sounds distinctively Jennifer English.
