Via NBC:

Amanda Robbins is angry about the war with Iran. She’s angry about the price of gas.

But mostly, the 35-year-old resident of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, is mad at herself for backing President Donald Trump at the ballot box. Not once, not twice. “Three times,” Robbins said while she fueled up at the Penn Jersey Mart here.

“That was my bad. Apparently, I’m an idiot.” Robbins was so fed up that she used an expletive to describe the president: “a worthless pile of s---.”

And that's probably the only rational thing that ever comes from her mouth.

[–] TaterTurnipTulip@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

When I see people make statements like this, I tend to disregard what they're saying. If you aren't taking concrete actions to help then your words aren't worth a damn. People can change, sure, but words are not enough.

I doubt she actually recognizes the error of her ways and starts helping affected communities. But if she does, there is a path to redemption that way.

Until then, yes, you're an idiot. Show us you can be something more than that, if you can.

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 hours ago

If only people had told you so before the election

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 90 points 9 hours ago (7 children)

Nah shes worse than an idiot. Genuine ghoul. The fact that her opinion is only changed by the price of gas and world destabilising war.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I just watched the video. The article just picked up on the best soundbite.

They interviewed people at a gas station while they're filling up. Of course it was mainly about gas prices. The interviewer than says "they also talked about the war and she was against that too".

Asked what she thinks about The Don rn, she turns to the camera and says the above quote. And that's all we have.

Compared to the three other people who mindlessly support everything Trump throws at them, I am willing to bring this one back into the fold.

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 1 points 1 hour ago

Thank you for adding the additional context. I would but she'd have to be a lot more humble.

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 43 points 9 hours ago

At least her opinion was changeable. By something. For many, that's not the case.

It's been 11 years since our president announced he was running for office. She would have been about 24. It's possible that the biggest thing that changed is: she grew up a little.

[–] Absinthe3858@lemmy.world 20 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Idk. Maybe not a ghoul. think she can be angry about both at the same time. People voted for him with the expectation that he would lower prices and decrease America's involvement in foreign affairs. He duped a lot of the country and they fell for it. People who were struggling economically are still struggling. It doesn't help that many parts of our country necessitate cars.

[–] West_of_West@piefed.social 29 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

As an outsider, I can excuse the 2016 vote because I recognize that people were angry at the system. But the subsequent votes are inexcusable, Trump's goals and methods were apparent from the get go.

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 hours ago

I mean the fact that people seemed to have forgiven January 6th is something I'll never be able to understand.

Trump is the president U.S. deserves.
Fuck Trump and FUCK the U.S. of WAR.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Trump is not the president the US needs, he is the one the US deserves.

[–] merde@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 hours ago

you're right. i edited my comment accordingly

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 4 points 9 hours ago

There is a path to redemption, and she is at least thinking about taking it.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 hours ago

Yes and fuck anyone who says otherwise. The pedophile stuff didn't matter. The immigration stiff didn't matter. It was only when it financial stung her. The feeling will probably fade.

People need to spend more time interacting with these deplorables before forgiving them for expressing a bit of doubt.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 hours ago

People should be able to change.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 0 points 6 hours ago

yep. clear.

she calls him a "worthless pile of shit" (unless my memory of the past 20 seconds has already failed me)

assuming that she is presented in the correct context here, she's saying that because of the price of gas. all the other shit didn't do that, but this did.

again that's assuming that she is presented in the correct context

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 3 points 4 hours ago

Clearly.

Everyone has said all of things already but I’ll point out that she could have taken any photo of her choosing and she posed like that.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 13 points 6 hours ago

You HAVE to Understand! She ONLY thought that Trump: Would hurt IMMIGRANT Children! Hurt TRANS Children! Hurt GAY Children! RAPE little Girls! Raise Gas Prices ONCE! Raise HER prices ONCE! PROTECT Pedophiles! And PROTECT Billionaires! She had NO IDEA he would Raise gas prices a SECOND time! That's an HONEST American mistake!

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 33 points 9 hours ago

I'd still rather have people that realized this than have them still be part of the cult. Of course she's an idiot and I hate her very much for her choice. But literally nothing I can say or do will change the past and bitching about what could have been is pointless.

[–] bladerunnerspider@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

35? Yikes, must be something in the Pennsylvania water

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 16 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Prime example; leopard eating face. It's only inconvenient when it affects THEM... and in this case, the most trivial way... selfish bitch. I hope it affects her in MORE ways soon enough and at this rate, I have no doubt it will.

Have the life you voted for, cunt.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 21 points 9 hours ago

The problem is that we're all getting what she voted for.

[–] wesker@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 9 hours ago

I mean, lady... there's no "apparently" about it.

[–] islandcoda42@lemmy.zip 11 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Apology not accepted. You screwed us all because you are a horrible person and wanted to watch others suffer. I hope you suffer mightily.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

It's not that i directly want her to suffer, it's that i want ALL people to be subjected to the things they chose to have subjected onto other people. Basic golden rule stuff. If she chose to be fine with innocent people having their lives fucked up, then i hope the same is returned to her in equal measure.

[–] islandcoda42@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 hours ago

100% Golden Rule stuff for sure. I’ve had to watch some loved ones suffer because of these idiots chainsawing everything in sight. They’re still suffering. This person deserves to suffer some.

[–] lemmie689@lemmy.sdf.org 11 points 9 hours ago
[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 8 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

typical conservative. no empathy, only cares when it effects them directly.

[–] Jake_Farm@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 hours ago

The depressing fact is, that this how the majority of people think.

[–] rabber@lemmy.ca 6 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

She's not just an idiot, but a bad person.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

I tend to agree. Whether you support him for or in spite of his misogyny, homophobia, racism, xenophobia, etc., you definitely know what kind of policies he's trying to implement. If you knowingly support that, you're a bad person.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

She's not an idiot, ahes a fucking gullible moron who only cares about herself.

[–] Jake_Farm@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 hours ago

Moron and idiot are synonyms

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago
[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Why is she now have this photo shot? Also after I saw the news cast thought she was in her 60's. Holy hell Mega ages you badly.

But again why this pic? Is she suddenly getting rewarded by being stupid?

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

That's what hate does to you. Last I checked, Leavitt was under 30, but you couldn't tell by looking. Hell, Miller is younger than I am and looks like he could be my grandfather.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Really thought he was in his late 40's early 50's?
