Longines Master Collection (www.longines.com)

Hey all! I'm new to nice watches, currently wearing a Timex Expedition from Target. I'll be getting engaged soon and my partner asked if I would want her to get me anything and I realized I might like a nice watch. I have decided I definitely want it to be mechanical and I don't want a dress watch, I want to be comfortable wearing it every day so I want it to be fairly durable. I'll take it off while bouldering or working on my car, but I don't wanna worry about the case looking bad if it bumps into something. I also like to see some complications as I just like the look of them, my favorite is the moon phase as my grandfather always had a moonphase watch. The last thing is I'd prefer to have the positions marked by Arabic numerals, or secondarily Roman numerals. I'm not a fan of just dots, squares, etc. Based on my research the closes I can find is the Longines Master Collection that should be linked, specifically - L2.673.4.61.6. I love the black dial and the steel case. I would be very happy with this but if the case was black that would just be even more perfect for me. Obviously it has the Roman numerals but I am ok with that.

I'm wondering what people here think of this watch and if you think it would be good for a watch to wear for a lifetime. Do you know of any other watches that fit my criteria? I know I am very particular but I am pretty happy with this watch and think I'd love looking at it every day. My Expedition has a black dial, steel case, and black strap and it looks good so maybe swapping the strap on this to something black would fit the look I like. I am a little wary of leather straps due to them wearing out in the past, but I wonder if that may have been due to cheaper leather. It also looks more dressy to me though which doesn't fit the look I want as much.

I'll end my rambling here, let me know what you think and any suggestions you have!

Edited to a better link to the watch

Congrats on the impending engagement!

I have no direct experience with Longines, but they seem to have a good rep. Any mechanical watch will require service, and really a reputable brand should keep ticking for a very very long time if cared for.

Also that watch is gorgeous, and I want it.
