I'm waiting for the first time that Seattle cops show up at an enforcement situation, and start demanding IDs from all the ICE Apes. Will the cops arrest them for not complying? What if they are on city property?

There WILL be a confrontation, and that will be an interesting day.

Tow their vehicles for impeding the road, and ask for an ID to prove ownership of the vehicle to get it out of impound.

And if it’s a rental, assume it’s fraudulent or stolen until the rental company can get back to them within 5-7 business days

These are the kinds of ideas we need. Not sure why our public servants can't come up with this.

Because first, they tried nothing, and then they were all out of ideas

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

All of these idea are just the laws that everyone else already follows. It's crazy we are just ok with them breaking the law because the law is too slow

[–] akilou@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Ideas are easy. Implementation is hard. They're killing people in the streets. Are you gonna be the guy who goes out there with a tow truck while they're pinning people to the ground in a cloud of tear gas and fire hosing mace in their faces?

Or smash the car as soon as possible and claim you didn’t see the order. You know. Ice-style.

I want to go around with some kind of super heavy-duty nail/spike gun and jam one right through the engine block of each ICE vehicle.

The oil pan is much more easily pierced and more accessible.

So let us take up this case of blind justice. I’m game for it.Determination & persistence are fundamental & key folks! It’s not about how it started, it’s now about how we finish this shit!

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

We'll see if this is a serious solution, I guess.

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 36 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'll listen when someone says their police officers will arrest ICE agents who assault or murder people.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'll listen when the Police Union says they will. Until then, it's all wishful thinking

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago

Fair, though I do mean I'll listen, not that I'll believe them.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So this is an interesting angle. If an individual is open carrying near certain places, like a protest, a permit is required. That means they can ask for that permit, and ask them to pull down thier face covering to verify they match the ID. Now I am sure the feds will say that since they identified themselves as federal agents, they don't need to. But where is that line. Law enforcement doesn't feel the need to prove it is law enforcement to us pleebs. But how do they feel about other supposed law enforcement refusing to follow thier orders to provide ID. Could be interesting.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

Hopefully, the Black Panthers will get permits and open carry. They can wear reflective vests, and provide backup to the cops if ICE resists arrest.

Oh my God just do it. Don't announce anything until you fucking do it because your fucking 🤡-ass words aren't worth shit

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That's true, but the announcement is more like a warning, to be fair. She's warning ICE but if the moment comes, we'll see if she keeps her word.

[–] erythrina@piefed.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 days ago

We'll see whether it works, but the idea is for people to understand it and be able to put things into place ahead of ICE showing up in force.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Perhaps you missed how politics works... lol

[–] PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

No I didn't, I'm just sick of shitlibs playing nice with monsters

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Sub shitlibs with poloticians. They are really all the same. Somewhere in their career they get successful leaning to one side or the other. Then they just lean more. But at their core, they do and say whatever is in thier best interest. And if they can't get publicity about it, they don't do it. Anyone who doesn't loses out to those who do. Even many of the "monsters" don't even hate what they claim to hate. It's just a means to an end. Nearly all of them care more about themselves than any cause or issue they spout off about.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The same PD that traveled to DC to partake in the Jan 6 insurrection?

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 days ago

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

finally a leader who does his job.

[–] Botzo@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Or her job!

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson

Nonetheless, I agree with the sentiment.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago
