rat-salute-2 to Fugimoto's Anti-american beliefs

Imagine in 5 years if this arc gets animated, the mass refusal of weebs to recognize the politics behind it.

It's been so heavy for a while, and I love it. Subtlety is for writers that are cowards.

They are going to make the biggest cope threads just to say the gun devil coming out of the statue of liberty doesnt mean anything

"Ahem, guns are part of American culture, and Lady Liberty holding one just shows what a dedicated patriot she is. This is also non-political."

There were people that thought Fuji was being pro-Statesian during the nuke scene. Some messages won't land if the reciever just refuses.

These are the facts

I wonder if a setting where the existence of nuclear bombs was erased, but then the US invented them again anyway to pointlessly mass murder soviet civilians is being political? No, it is clearly just saying that the US is the best and freest country.

Also for this bit sadly I can imagine CHUDs taking this as a condemnation of "woke California" rather than the US in general.

I am always a little suspicious of japanese nedia showing anti american sentiment. Like is your hate pure, or is your hate rooted in dreams of empire.

This seems pretty cool though.

::: spoiler spoilers for parts 1 and 2 What she is doing here is a callback to Makima having the exact same contract with the Prime Minister of Japan to have Japanese citizens "shoulder the burden of her deaths" (die in her place). There are valid criticisms to be made of Fujimoto, but I believe he is completely sincere at least in his opposition to militarily-enforced imperialism as well as nuclear warfare and threats thereof (several chapters ago the US reinvented nukes after they were erased from history and we only know this because they nuked the Soviets; the whole geopolitical plot of CSM 1 is an allegory for nuclear proliferation -- which Japan is portrayed as heavily complicit in -- etc.)

I've been putting off on reading/watching Chainsaw Man for a while, I can't believe it was actually this based

It’s a fantastic story. I would definitely recommend.
