Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

So….? They did?

Well we know it wasn’t Russia since no windows were involved.

What an odd thing to say.

Watching Israel cosy up to the far right is like watching someone free themselves from a bear trap, reset it, and start running straight at it again

[–] Fleur_@aussie.zone 38 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Somehow this makes me suspicious when previously I had no thoughts on it lmao

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 28 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

He left behind a wife and two kids. That's how we know Israel didn't do it.

Stolen from here

BTW, Netanyahu having to deal with actual antisemites peddling conspiracy theories sounds a lot like the boy who cried wolf

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Being against isreal is not bigotry so save your actual bias for someone that can be trusted to be honest abput it.

[–] markko@lemmy.world 10 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

Being anti-Israel is not the same as antisemitism, but I believe the previous comment was referring to the actual Nazis who were spreading the Israel-Kirk theory.

[–] Hector@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

Israelis are a type of actual nazi and not a legitimate source of whom are nazis.

They are openly aligned with literal classic nazis and all the new kinds. Of course they would lie about the motive of anyone accusing them.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

He turned against them and lately dared to speak out on their power over the US and even their genocide.
This while at first he was made big with zionist money and now refused further payment.
He got a lot of criticism from even worse people than himself, like Fuentes and rich zionists demanding he fall back in line.

That is not "Nazis who were spreading the Israel-Kirk theory" but simple facts

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

This is what I was referring to. Could have phrased it better.

[–] lazyViking@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

No, it was incredibly obvious

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 69 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I had zero reasons to suspect Israel in this, but now there is one

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (5 children)

I hope that people aren't really taking us too seriously as a reason to suspect Israel. There was a LOT of chatter saying that they killed him, by the Nazis of course. A dominant narrative on /pol/ is basically that Kirk got in bed with the Jews and now he's paid the price for trusting them.

From the standpoint of your average left-leaning person, Israel making a statement like this seems completely out of the blue and makes them look really guilty. But there's a whole demographic of people who really think that they did it. I don't think it's too unreasonable that they would make a statement about it. And let me be clear. I absolutely hate Israel with all my heart. But there are plenty of events in this world that they are not responsible for.

More importantly, this seems dangerously close to reasoning like: "You wouldn't defend yourself against these accusations unless they were actually true!" Which is definitely not a good bar to set.

Do things ever go any other way over there? 🙄

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

He did get in bed with them (verifiable TPUSA funding money), as most extreme-right do.
Problem is he turned on them recent months speaking out against their influence over the US and even the genocide.
That's a no no, they didn't take it well and were pretty pissed.

There's a separate conspiracy mostly on Instagram that asserts he was wearing a titanium breastplate and the shooting was meant to be staged like Trump's, but the bullet accidentally ricocheted off the breastplate.

I doubt it tbh but who knows. We have extremely unreliable evidence, eg the text messages that seem manufacturered.

What an oddly specific denial...

[–] spirinolas@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago

Holy shit, they killed Charlie Kirk??!

I never even considered Israel could be responsible. Very nice of Netanyahu to clear that up.

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 60 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Makes sense, they're reaching the point where it's more efficient to list the people they haven't killed.

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 day ago

For the record, I can believe that Israel has managed to bomb everything in Gaza except Hamas.

"Because charlie kirk was an adult"

-bibi Netanyahu probably

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I didn't think they had anything to do with it until this.

Netanyahu made a couple of social media posts about it when it happened, but there's now not really another sensible reason why the PM of a random country cares about an American podcaster so much.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Confirmed: When I read this headline I thought "uhhh kinda weird; who asked?"

Qanon. Of course Qanon asked.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. The murder of Charlie Kirk continues to benefit some of the most powerful individuals and banks with ties to Epstein.

The Senate called for this investigation hours before he was killed

So if anybody was paying attention to that right now instead of the threats of civil war, that would mean that people would be looking at the relationship between Epstein and individuals like Netenyahu, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel, as well as the banks that helped fund them like JP Morgan, BNY, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.

Or at least, people would be noticing the Republicans have voted 3 separate times to block this investigation starting on the day Kirk was killed.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 256 points 1 day ago (19 children)

What an odd thing to formally state.

[–] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 130 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I feel like I would suspect them less if they hadn't said anything. Most of Israel's formal statements regarding allegations of Israeli violence are lies, so what would make this statement different?

That's true they don't kill nazis; Israeli snipers only shoot babies in the skulls and eyes:

It’s crazy how that’s the least evil way the IDF murders children, they also target their genitals

we're at the point where NothingYahWho has to list who he didn't kill last week.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 105 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I didn't suspect they had any involvement before, but now I have some doubts... 🤔

I think this means we're at the stage where he's decided it makes more sense to list off all the crimes he's not doing.

List complete.

The "I didn't kill Charlie Kirk" shirt has a lot of people asking questions which are answered by the shirt.
