that's what he's hiding!

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 37 points 21 hours ago

I think his primary crime is running for governor because he’s done such a bad job

Every accusation is a projection.

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 55 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Talking back, jail. Making fun of him, jail. Running for governor, believe it or not, jail.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 16 points 21 hours ago

It Trump doesn't like something, he calls it a crime.

[–] Vreyan31@reddthat.com 32 points 1 day ago

This is what every narcissist does -- if you paint him with a bad (and deserved) brush like making him a convicted felon -- well, his vindictiveness has to now make his enemies into felons too, whatever it takes.

You see how hard the propaganda went after Biden? Trying to convince as many tubes as possible that Biden and his son were like Mafia guys...

Every accusation by Trump is another fucking confession.

[–] tinned_tomatoes@feddit.uk 240 points 1 day ago (43 children)

What crime has he committed? I think his primary crime is running for governor because he’s done such a bad job. What he’s to that state is like what Biden did to this country. And that’s pretty bad. It’s the wrong philosophy. Thousands, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, many of them prisoners, they’re taking up your healthcare, they’re taking up your space in schools, they’re taking up your hospital. And in many cases, they’re criminals. And we have to do something about it. And we’re doing something about.

Jesus fucking Christ what have you Americans gotten yourselves into? Do we need to pop across the pond and sort you out again?

This fucker is like an IRL Michel Scott

"Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t know where it’s going. I just hope to find it somewhere along the way. Like an improv conversation. An improversation."

[–] exixx@lemmy.world 150 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes please. The sooner the better

[–] joenforcer@midwest.social 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think you mean biscuits.

[–] Deconceptualist@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'll call them whatever you want -- Kekse, galletas, piškotki -- if you help us get rid of the fascists.

But personally I'll always associate the word 'biscuit' with this.

[–] beveradb@lemm.ee 2 points 24 minutes ago

I need to re-binge-watch that show again, Dylan Moran makes me quiver

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I’d ask for rescue, but your Supreme Court just ruled that I shouldn’t be allowed to piss anywhere at all because a mediocre children’s author is apparently a kingmaker now. Maybe y’all should prioritize taking care of your own homegrown fascists? This is sorta “there but for the grace of god go I” except yall also did stupid shit like Brexit.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 78 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dude this is everyone in MAGA country. It's so fuckin bad. I had a client rant unprompted to me about Biden and electric cars for a half hour on Friday.

My ass is moving to the UK ASAP. Helps when your spouse is from there.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Careful you don't arrive here just as Farage gets in.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

It's on my mind, the UK is on a very similar trajectory, just utilizing different mechanisms. Still, I think we'll be safer there. And if push comes to shove, we can move somewhere else in Europe down the line.

Hopefully not tho, we're finding some really cute homes in Scotland.

We could use the assist!

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you need, I'll write up a declaration of dependence.

[–] LetterboxPancake@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Man, what I want from Americans is writing down "I will not vote for a fascist again" 100 times. You can keep your independence.

“But you have a governor who let the city burn down, didn’t want water to be sent down to him,” Trump complained about Newsom and January’s wildfires. “I mean, I sent billions of gallons of water. I wanted to do it in the first term. He wouldn’t do it over. I don’t know, they have environmental reasons, but there were no environmental reasons. It’s, I think it’s just a political philosophy. But it’s lucky for the people in Los Angeles and in California that we did what we did.”

They dumped an entire reservoir full of water designed for agriculture purposes, into the fucking ocean! That reservoir didn't even connect to LA's supply.

[–] Devmapall@lemmy.zip 46 points 1 day ago

I had forgotten they did that. I know they're evil but it shocks me again

[–] turtlesareneat@discuss.online 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They got the headline they wanted.

They did in this case, too.

Trump still playing the media like a fiddle.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 9 points 21 hours ago

The media colludes with that. They're not victims.

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Billions and billions of gallons of water. Took the entire fresh water supply out the United States and just body slammed it into the ocean. No sir going to let the whole thing burn as god intended. /s just in case.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 12 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

The water wasn't used for firefighting.

The whole idea was to cause crop failures, which Trump will of course blame California for.

[–] havocpants@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I still find it absolutely wild that the president of the US has this much power, that the president can be an unqualified, incompetent drooling fucking moron and they are allowed to veto sensible knowledgeable people and do dangerous, stupid things like control the dumping of reservoirs.

WTF is wrong with America? In my country we have a parliamentary democracy and a civil service of qualified, intelligent people. We don't allow one total fucking imbecile to ride roughshod over everything and ruin anything they like. US congress is like some useless appendix right now when it should be in charge of making these decisions.

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 2 points 5 hours ago

If you want a starting point on wtf is wrong, start at Watergate and follow the policies completely influenced by greed, then connect to Citizen's United, and you'll have a pretty good idea. The US had a thing called "checks and balances" built into the foundation of the constitution, but that was all eroded away when congress got lazy and granted the executive branch too many exceptions. Trump is the end result of decades of corruption, greed, and just inept laziness.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I wish he would have the governor arrested. I want to see him send in the states on national guard or state police and take Newman. Then maybe the fucking democrats would wake the fuck up and see they need to do more then strongly worded letters. But Trump won't this all smoke and mirrors he to big of wuss to do it. Come on Taco do it I triple dog dare you. Lets light this candle.

[–] Darukhnarn@feddit.org 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Spoiler: the democrats won’t do shit.

[–] El_Scapacabra@lemmy.zip 11 points 20 hours ago

You know how in abusive families there is often one outright abusive parent and one codependent parent?

The one who will hug their kids and tell them to keep their heads down and don't upset mom/dad? The one who acts like they're just as much a powerless victim of the abuse as the kids they are supposed to protect? The one who never, ever steps in to actually protect their kids or get them away from the abusive parent?

That's the DNC.

[–] nimble@lemmy.blahaj.zone 47 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think his primary crime is running for governor because he’s done such a bad job.

Yeah Donnie, i think you've done such a bad job you should be arrested too if we're playing that game.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

Certainly if he's legalizing the open arrest of political leaders then he's at the top of the list.

[–] PillowD@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 24 points 1 day ago

Maybe, but he's always been ignorant and stupid, so it is nearly impossible to tell.

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 120 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Trump committed the crime of running for president.

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 71 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah, but running for President when you aren't eligible for the office for fomenting rebellion really is a crime.

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Unfortunately the penalty is just getting everything you want.

This is him normalizing the accusation, because he knows it will be made at him in 2028.

If Newsome and others are successful in their defense/cases on this, Trump can say "they did it, so I can do it" in 2028 (giving the media their sane washing angle to investigate and content create about). If the governors he goes after are unsuccessful - he'll further prove his absolute power.

It's win win.

[–] KonalaKoala@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And then at some point, it gets reversed with an article that states "Newsom Asked Why He Thinks He Can Arrest Donald Trump — Says He Committed ‘Crime’ of ‘Running For President’"
