Some of the issues brought up in your link are being answered in KES, which brings a whole world of functionality for browsing and interacting with kbin.
There might not be any comprehensive guide for a little while, as Kbin is still in very early development right now, and things are changing and getting moved around every so often, so any guide would very quickly find itself out of date.

I almost hate to say it because of the user base here, but I was wondering if I could block or hide certain terms as I can on Mastodon. I’m tired of seeing so much about Reddit. Some of it’s fun and interesting schadenfreude but it also feels to me a bit like obsessing over an ex. Healthier for me to stop caring.
sure...you can go to the specific magazine and block it.
you can also go to kbin.social/d/example.com and block an entire domain.
