What prevents the intelligence apparatus from controlling tiktok content the same way they control ig/fb/twitter's content? It seems to me that they're very concerned with tiktok's ability to influence public opinion (ex: Gaza), which is part of why they want it banned.
This. It's always about controlling the eyeballs of the chattel; and right now, the State sees a need to corral the young. Because again, yankee genociders can't compete on their own merits. It's pure protectionism and propaganda control.

Next time somebody says if you dont like something the only acceptable form of activism is to civilly contact your representatives show them this comment which basically boils down to "we've received a bunch of comments asking us not to ban tik tok which really highlights how important it is that we abn tik tok."
What's stopping them from using the same playback in the future.
