I'm a Popeye's and Raising Caine's man.
They are building a Raising Caine's near my house. what's their schtick?
Above average chicken fingers. The CEO is a MAGA donor, so beware.
Above average chicken tenders at significantly above average prices and so many screaming kids you'll not be able to hear yourself think.
Star Trek Replicator Chicken fingers. It looks perfect and is always the same, but it's the type of place where somebody probably got thrown out of a window for suggesting that a pinch of black pepper be put into the recipe. The sauce is pretty decent, but I hope you like it because it's utterly necessary. Good lemonade too. Founder leans right, but not "Cathy-family" right.
If you live somewhere with a Layne's Chicken, that's way better. Popeye's is generally better too, though it's traditional fast food grimy versus "pretend we're fast-casual" veneer that a lot of the chicken places like to do.
Utterly unseasoned chicken, but wonderful bread and good sauce.
Like, seriously, the chicken just tastes like the flour they fry it in. If I go there, I just order bread and a little sauce to dip it in
Oil! Lots of oil!
Popeyes is gross too. Probably some of the worst quality food out there, unless just every restaurant here is just bad.
I always wanted to try raising caines, heard it’s good but we don’t have one around here.
Popeye's depends on location. I've had some amazing Popeye's and some "holy shit how do you fuck up a chicken tender" experiences.
