You know, funny thing is time flipping around, I remember in the days of ratsinger, and my view on american catholics was that they were mostly good hearted people, doing the best they can to see humanity in a corrupt organization that's rotting from the head.
Now it feels like the popes are largely good people, doing the best they can, while many of their followers have turned into the most vile worse side of humanity, and as they try to steer it, the more the following just turns on the pope and more towards the hateful monsters like the guy who killed the last pope.
