Not sure if this is welcome here, if not could I please be directed to a good place to ask this? Usually I'd ask reddit but kinda avoiding that when possible.

Some months ago I accidentally deleted a partition in my drive where I have a bunch of old important files, I managed to recover it and mostly everything was fine except a folder of my art stuff (mostly images and blender files). The files seem to have the exact same size as they did when they worked (I have some of that backed up online) but I can't seem to be able to open them. I looked online but it's a bit overwhelming tbh and some options I tried just made a mess and are more work than it's worth. I'm using Linux Mint but I also have access to Windows 10.

Is there something I could run in specific folders/files to try to un-corrupt them?

Here's a blend and png file as an example: https://drive.proton.me/urls/5572C99S9R#OYmMv4Ek8wPF

Thank you!

Opened the PNG in Notepad and it says this:

I don't think these are valid files. I'd assume the blender file is similar. I think they're not even the original files.

Edit: the blender file has "R:mcep_link.parent.R:segstate.parent.n.ph_vc" in it which I googled and found linked on a text-to-speech thesis paper so I'm assuming that's not even a blender file unless people are using Blender to model 3D acoustics or something.

@WokePalpatine@hexbear.net interesting, none of that seems familiar to me and I have never used text-to-speech so I guess it's something random from some software or the OS itself... thanks for looking into it though!
