If you think Firefox collects too much data about you. Which I doubt. You can go with any privacy focused Firefox fork such as libre wolf. Why would you go to a chrome based browser?

Some people say Brave is almost on the same level as Firefox for blocking ads, but others don't like it because it's too similar to Chrome. I'm still not sure which browser to use, so I'll check F-Droid for a more secure option

Brave is LITTERALLY chrome but with a built in ad blocker. Thats it. If you think firefox harvests your data like mad i have some bad news about brave.

Brave sucks, they have scammy built-in crypto stuff and the CEO is a bigot. They’ve also been caught doing shady stuff like injecting their own ads in place of other ads. If you care about privacy and no ads, just use Firefox + ublock, or Librewolf.

Why not just use Firefox, though.

It isn't "too similar to Chrome"; it is Chrome. Brave is a Chrome-based browser.

Here's a really in-depth article about why Brave is sketchy. Without even getting into the CEO's politics, the company itself has done several scummy things over the years.

What I recommend is using Zen Browser with uBlock Origin.
