I thought this image was satirical. What the fuck is going on?
A dysfunctional military, itself a symptom of a dysfunctional governent (and a civilization in process of collapse) is utilizing theatrics to distract from its failures and shortcomings - specifically, the disasterous Iran War (itself started as theatrics intended to distract from government corruption and dysfunction)
In this instance, they are leveraging well known right-wing media personalities, whose brand commercializes toxic masculinity, in order to paint a military that can no longer equip, organize, or supply itself effectively as being more effective through the perception of a campaign that makes them more desirable/manly - a campaign run and organized by successive ranks of failed media personalities that have been installed into positions of power.
TLDR: We are all gonna die, but first it's gonna get real fucking stupid.
I dispute that the Iran war was a distraction or theatrics. But I still upbeared because what you said was funny.
Same. I'm probably happier not learning who these guys are, but it's hard not to be curious. Why is the guy at the podium dressed like he was interrupted after he just started changing and already got his tie off?
If it were just a couple years ago the "DEPARTMENT OF WAR" logo would have been the reassurance that this actually is from a comedy sketch.
They're grifters, the guy at the podium was notorious for making a YouTube video about the Japanese suicide forest where he went to oggle dead bodies.
