This oft-repeated "fact" is straight up bullshit. Supermarket bread in Europe has more sugar than Subway bread. The article you linked points out that it is simply for the purposes of determining VAT.
And high fructose corn syrup is not and has never been banned in Europe.
If you're going to try to shit on the US get your basic fucking facts straight
Uuh no, at least not where i live, maybe those packaged sliced white breads but no one sane eat those as normal bread, that shit is gonna get paired with Nutella or other things
Does it? The cheap store brand white square bread in Holland had no added sugar at all. It has plenty of artificial stuff, but not sugar.

It's at least restricted and banned in UK. Plus many more chemicals that are allowed in the US and not in Europe. So don't preach US food safety to me.

You realize corn syrup is bad because it's cheap and overused to make food hyper palatable and not because it's intrinsically bad right? It's literally just as bad/good as cane sugar and the issue is over consumption.
