Something with this much of a budget a theatrical release totally has Hollywood money behind it. Its not like a purposefully orchestrated tax write off flop either, those are bigger budgets (Madam Webb = tax write off plus tactic to keep Spidey IP)
Someone may want to bury the film with lack of advertising though. Or, yeah, its just a bad movie they dont want to throw money at propping it. I'll try to see it in the next few weeks to decide myself.
..."Hollywood" is just a bunch of investors who want their percentage back and dont give a fuck about what message the film has.
