I’m expecting some gas company to start selling gas by the quart instead of gallons, just so they can cut the price in the sign.

Good point. They sell gasoline by the liter (close to a quart) in many countries. They might just try this.

Haha, no doubt. If anything might convince Americans to go metric, maybe it would be this. "It will cut the (displayed) price of gas to a quarter of the current price!" I can almost see an executive order coming to mandate this.
