I hate AI as much as the next guy, but it’s normal for new graphics tech to be too intensive for the current generation

Hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Oh wait you're serious.

You claim you've been gaming since the original Doom but this is not something anyone who gamed before the Xbox 360 would think was a joke. It was a regular experience that the most graphically impressive games would target future hardware, people used to look forward to the next big graphical showcase of a game.

You know that has been awhile and things change.

We've been regularly going through it again with raytracing. Games that the RTX 2000 and even 3000 series have aged well with 5000 hardware.

Because Crysis ran out of the box on min spec hardware of the era and no meme ever came out of a system being able to run the game.

It came out 19 years ago. Guy is probably too young to know of a time when hitting 30 fps with most options turned down was considered a win.

Bitch I'm older than Doom.

I'm from the era where games companies had to fit a game onto a physical disc, and they would give out multiple entire map packs with magazines for free.

Back when developers actually made games instead of relying on AI slop filters or ray tracing to do their job for them.

Or just pumping out the same game year after year with a new number after the title.

See I didn’t feel old the first time, but saying older than doom like it’s a record now makes me feel like grandpa Simpson.

Older than Doom

I, too, am barely older than Doom, but this chud is huffing nastolgia. New tech is at the edge, practically by definition.

That said, I'm not really sure what DLSS 5 is supposed to do beyond a vague "it makes games look better!" Kinda annoying for a performance hit when it's not even clear what the goal is.
