Wikipedia links it to Fortune-telling for some reason? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%F0%9F%94%AF but doesn't elaborate?

emojis wiki says it's something to do with buddhism? https://emojis.wiki/dotted-six-pointed-star/

It's a really weird symbol

Also found this reddit thread with explanations all over the place https://www.reddit.com/r/Emoji/comments/16buwk0/meaning_of_dotted_sixpointed_star/

The unicode explanation simply says "SIX POINTED STAR WITH MIDDLE DOT" (very helpful) (not)

and the official chart has an arrow to the star of david and that's it https://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U1F300.pdf

It's an ancient symbol used in a number of religions with varied meanings. In uni-code it follows the crystal ball emoji ๐Ÿ”ฎ so I think it was likely just included as a common spiritual symbol many people might want to use.
