35 might be an exaggeration, they would have been around 9 years old, old enough to remember something.

Yeah, this is definitely wrong. My younger brothers are significantly younger than 35 right now, and they still remember where they were when it happened.

Anyone who is older than 25 existed when the towers fell, which is significantly younger than 35. Whether a kid much younger than 11 can remember where he was when it happened is another question, but the math is correct.
