As part of the devs farewell message on their site, they have included malicious code to make each visitor sends 2,000 requests to the dbzer0 servers in an attempt to DDOS and take the instance offline.

Dude created a lemmy front end and made it free for public use.

What he didn't tell anyone was he had a secret blocklist written into it that meant he effectively controlled who and what anyone who used it saw across the entire fediverse. Basically tried to make themselves modking.

When this was discovered, they had a meltdown, then another one, then another fifteen screaming that everyone was just a bunch of toxic violent cunts who didnt understand their vision. The post addressed here was about count five. They're still here.
