I genuinely believe that some people are just completely unaware of anything made before their birth.
Like they actively choose not to be aware, to the point of calling out a re-telling of a literally ancient tale for tropes it literally invented.
"The universe started when I was about six years old."

It's harder when you have words that people are native language to but you're using it like you just invented a word, even if it is the original origin and it's used slightly differently.
