So my username on reddit was u/IAmUser1234567 I had 17k+ Karma, i didn't do anything they just banned my account. Now i guess they have created a digital fingerprint or marked my ip address, because if i create a new account it gets banned almost instantly.

I am loving lemmy(using Voyager on my android phone) so much. Reddit anyways now just contains shity cringe content, it is becoming like insta, I am happy to join lemmy family :)

You don't replace them. You just deal with the lack of them. As well as the lack of super interesting content and niche contributors (i.e.: "Geologist here!" and so on).

I'd like to think that one day the Fediverse attains that level of adoption but it seems the only "free" protocols that attain that is podcasts. But that was created like 20 years ago and a large portion of so-called podcasts (that are more like just video roundtables or interviews) aren't even distributed at all anymore. So as a society we are moving in the opposite direction.
