So my username on reddit was u/IAmUser1234567 I had 17k+ Karma, i didn't do anything they just banned my account. Now i guess they have created a digital fingerprint or marked my ip address, because if i create a new account it gets banned almost instantly.

I am loving lemmy(using Voyager on my android phone) so much. Reddit anyways now just contains shity cringe content, it is becoming like insta, I am happy to join lemmy family :)

I think one doing it said, they do it for style, no idea about others, if there are several. But let them be, we are online, and practically have crawled to hide under a rock here - of course you are going to encounter multiple different type of weirdoes. Writing a bit funny is very low on the list of bothersome things, I have seen people do here. If you get annoyed at the thorns, just stop reading and scroll past. In the long run, creating a negative space with mean comments, just makes things worse for everyone.

I think you're assuming that a) I'm annoyed and b) I'm complaining to them about it. Neither are true.

It does make it harder to read, but I'm not annoyed. And I simply tell them it doesn't work, in a calm way, as an FYI. 🫡👍 It's a service I provide. If they do it for fun, I won't stand in their way.

Yes, I am sorry! I did not want to point a finger at you, but I messed up. Your comment just happened to remind me of, how I see so many angry answers, and mass-downvoting, everytime I spot one of the thornpeople comments. And it makes me sad! Why do people get so pissed off, over such a minor thing, I do not understand.

I down vote them because it's useless and makes the reading harder, especially for dyslexic people
But usually i also explain it to them and recently i started to share this meme every time i see this dude using the thorn
